Statoil set to drill Norwegian Sea wildcat

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved Statoil’s plan for exploration drilling on the Snedfrid Nord prospect in the Norwegian Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved Statoil’s plan for exploration drilling on the Snedfrid Nord prospect in the Norwegian Sea.

The semisubmersibleTransocean Spitsbergen is due to spud well 6706/12-2 next month on block 6706/12 in production license 218.

Drilling could last 33 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.
