Bourbon adds new ROVs from FMC

Bourbon has commissioned three next-generation heavy duty work ROVs from FMC Technologies Schilling Robotics.

PARIS –Bourbon has commissioned three next-generation heavy duty work ROVs from FMC Technologies Schilling Robotics. Capable of operating at depths of up to 3000 m (9,840 ft), these ROVs will be deployed on multi-purpose support vessels such as the Bourbon Evolution 800 series.

The HD workROVs will be fitted with manipulator arms, dynamic positioning, high-definition camera, sonar, and software. They can carry up to 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) of special measurement or intervention tools.

Bourbon says three other next-generation ROVs will be added to its fleet of ROVs by the end of 2015, which bring the total to 18 units, including 11 work-class ROVs.Bourbon and FMC Technologies Schilling Robotics have worked together since 2009 on ROV fleet expansion.
