Angola extends Eni exploration period for offshore block 15/06

Eni has received a three-year extension from Angola covering offshore block 15/06.

MILAN, Italy –Eni has received a three-year extension from Angola covering offshore block 15/06. The company had requested an extension to the original November 2014 expiration.

The extension also includes an adjacent area covering the Reco-Reco discovery, estimated by Eni to hold 100 MMbbl of oil in place.

Eni requested the extension based on planned activities, including drill three wells and conducting a 3D seismic survey covering 1,000 sq km (386 sq mi).

Block 15/06 is 350 km (217 mi) northwest of the capital city of Luanda and 130 km (81 mi) east of Soyo. Eni operates the holding with 35% interest, with Sonangol Pesquisa e Producao holding 35%, SSI Fifteen Ltd. holding 25%, and Falcon Oil Holding Angola SA with 5%.
