    Saipem continues construction on South Stream pipeline

    Commenting on statements made by Russian authorities and Gazprom’s chairman in the media with regard to a contract for the construction of the South Stream pipeline, Saipem states that it has not received any formal notice of termination of the contract from its client, South Stream Transport BV. Therefore, operational activities continue to progress.

    SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Commenting on statements made by Russian authorities and Gazprom’s chairman in the media with regard to a contract for the construction of the South Stream pipeline, Saipem states that it has not received any formal notice of termination of the contract from its client, South Stream Transport BV. Therefore, operational activities continue to progress.

    Saipem notes that the potential interruption of work and any possible cancellation of the project are subject to the terms of contract.
