Eni takes exploration position offshore Portugal

Eni has agreed to take a 70% operated stake in permits offshore Portugal from Galp Energia subsidiary Petrogal.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni has agreed to take a 70% operated stake in permits offshore Portugal from Galp Energia subsidiary Petrogal.

The agreement includes the unexplored Gamba, Santola and Lavagante concessions, which cover a total area of 9,100 sq km (3,513 sq mi).

The Portuguese State awarded all three exploration permits to Petrogal in 2007.
