CNOOC starts gas production from Panyu project

HONG KONG –CNOOC Ltd. announced that its Panyu 34-1/35-1/35-2 project commenced production in the South China Sea. The field is located in a water depth of 640 to 1,109 ft (195 to 338 m).

The project consists of three gas fields, namely Panyu 34-1, Panyu 35-1, and Panyou 35-2. The main production facilities include one comprehension platform, two sets of an underwater production system, and 13 producing wells. There are two wells producing about 21 MMcf/d (594,654 cm/d).

CNOOC expects for the project to reach its ODP designed peak production of about 150 MMcf/d (4.2 MMcm/d) in 2015.

CNOOC wholly owns and operates Panyu.
