DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania –Tanzania’s Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts has instructed police to arrest the acting director general and the board chairman of Tanzania Petroleum Development Corp.

Thomson Reuters reports that James Andelile and Michael Mwanda have failed to meet the timing on a release to the parliament oversight panel of 26 oil and gas contracts signed with both local and international investors.

TPDC has responded by saying it was bound by confidentiality agreements and did not have sufficient time to get approvals to release the data.

This is the most recent move in an ongoing concern whether the country is getting a fair return on itsenergy resources.
