Maersk Drilling receives extension for the Maersk Resolute jackup

Hess has exercised the four one-well options included in its current contract for the Maersk Resolute jackup.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Hess has exercised the four one-well options included in its current contract for the MaerskResolute jackup. Each of the four additional wells has an estimated duration of around 90 days. This will extend the current contract by one year, and now, the rig will be employed until April 2016.

The estimated value of the extension is $75 million.

Maersk Resolute is the second in a series of four high efficiency 350 ft (106 m) water depth capable jackups delivered in 2008-2009.
