LAGOS, Nigeria – National Oilwell Varco (NOV) Nigeria has awarded Aveon Offshore Ltd. a contract to fabricate the Egina offloading buoy as part of a package for the Egina OLT contract for Total Upstream Nigeria.
The contract awarded in March for the fabrication of a 900-ton (816-metric-ton) offloading buoy includes the fabrication of the 700-ton (635-metric-ton) buoy hull, the installation and integration of a 200-ton (181-metric-ton) turret, and the launching and pre-commissioning of the completed buoy. Capex for the construction of a slipway for the launching of the buoy is also included in the contract.
The project will be executed at Aveon Offshore's fabrication yard in Rumuolumeni near Port Harcourt,Nigeria, and sail-away of the buoy is scheduled for 2Q 2017.
