SCHIEDAM, the Netherlands – SBM Offshore announces that, to meet the challenges of the dynamic market for catenary anchor leg mooring (CALM) terminals and after sales services, two independent entities – Imodco Terminals SA and Imodco Services SA – have been created. Building upon SBM’s terminals technology, the two new companies will operate independently from the rest of SBM Offshore, while functioning as 100% affiliates within the Group.
As a result, clients will benefit from a more proactive partner in this area, and, in its role as shareholder, the SBM Group will strengthen its leadership on its historical business of CALM buoys and relevant after sales services. This step will facilitate the two Imodco companies in providing bespoke solutions over the full lifecycle for CALM terminals.
Imodco Terminals SA will be responsible for sales and execution of CALM terminal turnkey projects. This company will provide engineering designs tailored to the specific requirements of the market
Imodco Services SA will provide after sales services. Providing parts sales and inspection and intervention services, this team will strive to ensure a fast response when spares or services for existing CALM terminals are required. The company’s range of activities will include supervision of terminals construction; commissioning; installation and startup; inspection; terminals maintenance (including repair and overhauls); and inspection and intervention on swivels and mechanical parts.
