BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT, France –Vallourec has been awarded a contract by Technip Umbilicals for the Edradour project operated by TOTAL in the UK North Sea. As part of this first industrial order, Vallourec will deliver super duplex welded tubes for umbilicals from its plant in Venarey-Les Laumes (Burgundy, France).
This new product reinforces Vallourec's position on the subsea construction market. After completing a thorough qualification process with TOTAL as technical sponsor, Vallourec’s umbilicals plant is completing its ramp-up and has already worked on several prototype orders.
Manufacturing is scheduled to begin at the end of 3Q 2014, with delivery in the first half of 2015.
