NPD approves two more frontier wells offshore Norway

OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has authorized two exploration wells.
Centrica Resources (Norge) will drill well 6707/10-3 in the Norwegian Sea – the first on license PL528B – using the semisubmersibleWest Navigator. The location is 20 km (23 mi) northeast of the Statoil-operated Aasta Hansteen field development. Statoil is also a partner in the well.
A/S Norske Shell has authorization to drill wellbore 6305/8-2 in PL250, 120 km (75 mi) west of Kristiansund, using theTransocean Barents.
This is an appraisal well and only the second well on the license since it was awarded in October 1999.
