SYDNEY, Australia– Cue Energy Resources Ltd. reports the Whio-1 well has reached TD of 9,265 ft (2,824 m) in the Paleocene Farewell formation in the Taranaki basin offshore New Zealand.
The well, in the PEP 51313 permit, encountered sandstones in all objectives as expected but could not confirm the presence of commercial hydrocarbons. The well will be P&A’d.
TheKan Tan IV semisubmersible drilled the exploration well.
