ABERDEEN, UKStatoil has awarded Omega Completion Technology a two-year framework contract.

Omega will supply its ReACT Technology (Remotely Activated Completion Technology) where required to all Statoil fields offshore Norway.

The company supplied its first ReACT completion solution to Statoil 10 years ago and has since provided equipment for more than 30 Statoil wells. This latest agreement has an option for a six-year extension.

ReACT provides a means to remotely activatedownhole completion equipment without the need for costly and complex intervention operations, Omega explains. The technology offers a primary and back-up remote actuation functionality and mechanical contingency option.

To date the company has performed more than 100 deployments of the equipment.
