Palfinger delivers knuckle boom cranes to Transocean, opens Houston office

Palfinger Marine has delivered two more cranes to Transocean for use on drillships. It has also opened a Houston office and employed Louis LeBourgeois to cover the full product range including marine and offshore cranes, launch and recovery systems, and boats.

KÖSTENDORF, AustriaPalfinger Marine has delivered two more cranes to Transocean for use on drillships.

In mid-July, the company delivered a second PK 150002 MB crane to Transocean. The crane has an outreach of 8.9 m (29 ft) and a lifting capacity of 9.5 t. Its main purpose will be general lifting and hoisting on the drillship. The PK 150002 MB comes with an external control stand and meets DNV and ATEX standards.

Earlier this year, the biggest Palfinger Marine heavy-duty, foldable knuckle boom crane PFM 4500 ME was delivered to Transocean – a project which was executed in cooperation with its UK partner Outreach Ltd. This crane’s purpose again is general lifting and hoisting with a capacity of 20 t at 14 m (46 ft).
