TEHRAN, Iran – Oil production from the Forouzan field in the Persian Gulf is expected to rise to 40,000 b/d in August following installation of two wellhead platforms, says a report by Iranian news service Shana.
Construction of one of the jackets is virtually complete and it will be installed by August.
Currently wells are drilling at the F18 platform and another has spudded at the F19 installation.
Iran’s Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. is developingForouzan, which includes construction of the LQA and FZA platforms, a gas pressure booster station, and subsea pipelines. A South Korean contractor is constructing the platforms.
At the South Pars gas field Phase 16, hookup operations should lead to a new platform becoming operational by October.Drilling operations have been completed.
