LONDON – Ophir Energy has terminated its third successive dry hole well offshore Gabon.
The drillshipVantage Titanium Explorer drilled Okala-1 well on the Mbeli block to 4,229 m (13,874 ft) MD, testing Cretaceous sands in the presalt section. However, there were no significant hydrocarbon shows in the target reservoirs.
The drillship now heads north toEquatorial Guinea for a campaign of three exploration and appraisal wells on block R for Ophir.
