ABERDEEN, UK – HB Rentals has delivered a 60Pax linkable accommodation complex to a jackup barge for the Conwy gas field development in Liverpool Bay off northwest England.
The 60-bed complex comprises sleeper welfare modules, access stairs, walkways, recreational facilities, and meeting/conference rooms.
HB says the project presented various challenges including limited deck space on the JB115 barge. This made it necessary to stack the modules four-high and to undertake additional structural analysis to meet this requirement.
In addition, the modules had to meet blast overpressure criteria due to the proximity of the barge to the platform.
HB’s scope included upgrading existing fire and gas detection systems.
