Genesis wins offshore Tanzania deepwater gas study

BG Group has awarded Technip subsidiary Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants Ltd. the Upstream Concept Select Study for the deepwater gas discoveries in blocks 1, 3, and 4 offshore Tanzania.

LONDON – BG Group has awarded Technip subsidiary Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants Ltd. the Upstream Concept Select Study for the deepwater gas discoveries in blocks 1, 3, and 4 offshore Tanzania.

The fields are in water depths of 1,000-1,800 m (3,281-5,905 ft). BG and its partners plan a development linked to a new LNG plant on the Tanzanian coast.

Genesis’ scope takes in the upstream facilities, concept selection, and pre-front-end engineering and design.
