OSLO, Norway – Statoil has authorization from Norway’s Petroleum Services Agency to drill the Apollo exploration well in Barents Sea license PL615.
The semisubmersibleTransocean Spitsbergen will start drilling well 7324/2-1 this month, in 430 m (1,411 ft) water depth.
The program could last 31 days, depending on whether a discovery follows.
