HOUSTONParadigm has announced the Paradigm 14 release, another significant step in its mission to deliver Advanced Science for Everyone in the fields of exploration, development, and production. The Paradigm 14 product suite offers over 700 new features and enhancements across the entire upstream workflow – from processing and imaging to interpretation and modeling, reservoir characterization, reservoir engineering and drilling, and data management.

The focus of this release is the science and technology that enable effective seismic data processing and imaging, velocity modeling, and seismic interpretation. Paradigm 14 delivers high-definition images to see smaller features important in modern reservoirs. It allows visualization of small features important for exploiting modern reservoirs, such as fractures, thin beds, and small faults.

This release also reduces exploration risk by ensuring a clearer understanding of the subsurface; increasing the value of investments in both legacy and modern seismic surveys; and allowing operators to verify results from their processing partners.

Paradigm 14 overcomes acquisition limitations in surveys by mathematically repositioning sources and sensors into a desirable geometry with 5D regularization. It also improves signal and reduces noise in both marine and land surveys; and defines geological features more precisely through more accurate velocity determination, with new interactive tomography QC capabilities.
