Maersk Oil has contracted KBR for topsides front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the Culzean ultra high-pressure/high-temperature (uHP/HT) gas condensate development in the UK central North Sea.

HOUSTON – Maersk Oil has contracted KBR for topsides front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the Culzean ultra high-pressure/high-temperature (uHP/HT) gas condensate development in the UK central North Sea.

The location is 145 km (90 mi) east of Aberdeen.

Culzean will be developed via a wellhead platform, a central processing platform with flare tower, and a living quarters/utility platform.

KBR will provide the FEED for the topsides in each case. The contract includes an option for detailed design of the topsides plus follow-on engineering competency activities during fabrication.
