Hookups under way at South Pars 17, 18

Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. (IOEC) is preparing to start-up gas production from two new platforms serving phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf.

TEHRAN, Iran -- Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. (IOEC) is preparing to start-up gas production from two new platforms serving phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars field in the Persian Gulf..

Managing director Gholamreza Manouchehri told local news service Shana the Abozar vessel and its 300 crew members were managing ahookup operation to connect export pipelines to the platforms of the phases.

Phases 17 and 18 should deliver 50 MMcm/d (1.77 tcf/d) of gas, 80,000 b/d of gas condensate, 400 tons/day of sulfur, 1 MM tons of ethane, and 1.05 MM tons of gas liquids.

A consortium comprising IOEC, IDRO, NIOEC, and Sadra Co. istasked with development of the offshore and onshore facilities.
