LONDONGDF Suez E&P UK has discovered more gas near its emerging Cygnus hub in the UK southern North Sea.

The jackupGSF Monarch drilled the Cepheus 44/12a-6 exploration well, encountering a gas column within the Permian Lower Leman sandstone (the primary reservoir target).

The well, which was drilled to a total MD of 12,125 ft (3,696 m), was deviated northeastward from a top hole location in block 44/12a to the target location in block 44/12b in license P1731. It will be P&A’d.

The company’s partners in the license are Centrica North Sea Gas and Bayerngas E&P.
