WELLINGTON, New Zealand – The semisubmersible Kan Tan IV has completed and suspended the Pateke-4H well in PEP 38158, offshore Taranaki, close to the southwest coast of New Zealand’s North Island.

Production from the well should follow during the first half of 2015, according to partner New Zealand Oil & Gas, pending installation and commissioning of a subsea flowline and ancillary control equipment connecting the well to the Tui Field gathering system.

Preparations are under way to relocate the rig to the northeast of the Tui field to drill the Oi-1 exploration well.

AWE operates both wells. The other partner in the license is Pan Pacific Petroleum.
