ABERDEEN, UKReflex Marine has become the first European Union company to have its technology certified by the Brazilian Navy, the accredited body for offshore safety in the region. The certification relates to the company’s FROG-6 device and comes as a result of rigorous testing to scrutinize its capabilities.

In December 2013, Reflex Marine welcomed personnel from the coast guard section of the Brazilian Navy to Aberdeen, Scotland, to witness the testing of the FROG-6 first hand. Representatives from the Directorate of Ports and Coasts explored Reflex Marine’s FROG capsule and witnessed immersion, load, vertical, and lateral impact tests.

Petrobras is one operator that is looking at adopting the FROG-6 for its personnel transfer requirements. The FROG-6 provides extensive protection from four key risks of transfer, including falling, collision, heavy landings, and immersion. The units increase safety and transfer rates, and also provide medical-evacuation capabilities.

Reflex Marine has an established partner based in Macaé,Brazil, that offers Reflex Marine products, along with inspection, maintenance, replacement parts, and training.
