Offshore Guinea-Bissau drilling rescheduled

Svenska Petroleum and partner FAR have opted to postpone drilling offshore Guinea-Bissau until March 2015, due to the country’s current elections which are due to conclude in May.

MELBOURNE, Australia – Svenska Petroleum and partner FAR have opted to postpone drilling offshore Guinea-Bissau until March 2015, due to the country’s current elections which are due to conclude in May.

A three-year extension to the current exploration term began on Nov. 26, 2012.

The plan is to appraisePremier Oil’s 2004 Sinapa oil discovery. If the well result proves to be commercial, another exploration well will follow.
