ABERDEEN, UK – Pipetech International has completed a pipe cleaning project offshore Denmark for an unnamed operator.

The company used its Aqua Milling system to clean a 20-in. sea dump line which was almost completely blocked by hard scale.

The system applied high-pressure/high-speed water delivered through a specially developed nozzle deployed on the company’s Aqua Drill International flexible hose system.

After gaining entry through an under-deck vent, it cleaned more than 33 m (198 ft) of the dump line, including several 90° bends. The work took more than three days and involved around 12 hours of cleaning time.

The Aqua Milling scale collector was bolted to the entry point on the line to provide an enclosed operation, preventing potential spill or leakage. All removed scale was collected and disposed of in a dry operation.
