SAN ANTONIO – Trelleborg Offshore is showcasing the capabilities of its stackable version of its RiserGuard, designed to save storage space offshore, at the Subsea Tieback Forum & Exhibition being held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Trelleborg says that the stackable version allows stacking of mixed dressed riser joints while maintaining equivalent protection to the original system. The new joints can be stacked alongside buoyant riser joints.

Designed as a free flooding, self equalizing, neutrally buoyant unit, the Stackable RiserGuard offers protection for bare riser joints and external lines during handling, storage, and drilling. The bare or slick riser joint system consists of a series of two piece half shells affixed to the outside of the riser joint.

The Stackable RiserGuard offers quick, easy installation and is impact and abrasion resistant. It also provides the same OD and geometry as buoyant riser joints, allowing bare joints to be run at the same speed as buoyant joints.
