PSA approves Statoil’s intervention, buoy loading plans

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has authorized use of the drilling rig Island Frontier for light well intervention on the Tune field.

The company sought sanction for the program, which is due to start in June.

Tune is a gas/condensate field in production licenses 034 and 190, around 10 km (6.2 mi) west of theOseberg field center in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

Statoil also has PSA’s consent to deploy offshore loading buoys OLS1 and OLS2 on the Gullfaks field. Discovered in theNorth Sea in 1979, the field has been developed using three large Condeep platforms.
