HOUSTON – McDermott International has won an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) project from an operator of an offshore project in the Middle East.

The scope includes engineering, fabrication, transportation, and installation of four offshore topsides, and modifications to two existing production facilities to extend deck space and maximize the size of modules.

Combined total weight of the structures will be more than 3,500 metric tons (3,858 tons).

Additionally, McDermott will install a 15-km (9.3 mi), 12-in. subsea pipeline in water depths of 10-14 m (33-46 ft).

President and CEO David Dickson said: “The project is part of a plan to boost oil production from existing fields, by the implementation of gas injection technology, and the installation of new production wells.”

Engineering and fabrication will be performed at the company’s Jebel Ali complex in Dubai, with vessels from the company’s global fleet providing transportation and installation.

Offshore operations are expected to start this fall with project completion, including hookup and commissioning, set for 1Q 2015.
