Saltire Energy expands Aberdeen operations

Saltire Energy, a supplier of drilling tools to the offshore oil and gas industry, plans to expand its operations in Aberdeen following a £5 million ($8.1 million) investment in a 2.6-acre site in nearby Badentoy, Portlethen.

ABERDEEN, UK – Saltire Energy, a supplier of drilling tools to the offshore oil and gas industry, plans to expand its operations in Aberdeen following a £5 million ($8.1 million) investment in a 2.6-acre site in nearby Badentoy, Portlethen.

Planning permission has been secured for 4,650 sq ft (432 sq m) of offices, a 12,500-sq-ft (1,161-sq-m) warehouse, and a 12,500-sq-ft (1,161-sq-m) workshop on the new site, with 75,000 sq ft (6,968 sq m) of additional open storage space.

Saltire Energy will retain its two existing facilities in Portlethen, and will move its leased warehouse space in Tullos, Aberdeen, to its new facility in Portlethen.

The additional base will consolidate Saltire Energy’s operations within three bases at Portlethen. Construction has begun on the site, and it is expected to be completed by April 2014.
