HOUSTONSaipem’s newest pipelay vessel Castorone is taking on its first project in the Gulf of Mexico. The Castorone, which is a DP-3, ice classed, pipelay vessel, was employed on the 219-km-long (136-mi-long) Walker Ridge oil export pipeline, which connects Chevron's Jack and St Malo fields in 2,140 m (7,021 ft) of water, north to a Shell-operated platform in Green Canyon block 10.

Inchcape Shipping Services is providing the vessel with marine agency and logistics support for this project, through the provision and operation of bonded warehouses in Houston and Port Fourchon, Louisiana, and with the arrangement and customs clearance and delivery of over 2,500 tons of freight.
