Petrofac to remain duty holder of two UK offshore platforms

Petrofac has won extensions to platform service contracts in the North Sea worth £65 million ($109 million).

ABERDEEN, UK – Petrofac has won extensions to platform service contracts in the North Sea worth £65 million ($109 million).

Total E&P UK has issued a two-year extension to a five-year contract for technical services on the Alwyn and Dunbar platforms in the northern UK North Sea. Currently 191 Petrofac personnel support the facilities offshore with eight more onshore in supporting roles.

Petrofac has also secured from new ownerEnQuest a renewal of its duty holder contract on the Kittiwake platform to the end of 2014. The contractor has been duty holder since 2003 and currently employs 95 offshore staff and 20 onshore for this project, formerly operated by Centrica.

Additionally, Petrofac has secured a two-year contract renewal from Centrica to its operations services contract for the Rough offshore gas storage facility in the UK southern North Sea.

The contractor will provide an enhanced, “managed” service on the 8a platform.
