Noble updates Brazil rig status following incident

Noble Corp. has confirmed that the Noble Paul Wolff, a dynamically positioned semisubmersible rig operating off the coast of Brazil, experienced a ballast control incident on Feb. 28.

LONDONNoble Corp. (NYSE: NE) has confirmed that the Noble Paul Wolff, a dynamically positioned semisubmersible rig operating off the coast of Brazil, experienced a ballast control incident on Feb. 28. All workers are safe, and no injuries have been reported.

Once the incident occurred, the crew took prompt corrective action, including securing the well. Measures are currently under way to resolve the matter. As a precaution, 77 non-essential personnel were evacuated from the rig. No pollution has been reported.

Noble continues to work with its customer and appropriate authorities in connection with this matter.
