SHARJAH, UAE – Lamprell has completed construction of the jackup Qarnin for Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Co. (NDC).
The rig will leave Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility later this month for the short journey to Abu Dhabi.
This is the third of six identical rigs that Lamprell will deliver to NDC. All are of the Cameron LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design.
Sister rigsMakasiband Muhaiyimatwere delivered in 2012, while the three remaining rigs are expected to be completed on schedule during 2014/2015.
Qarnin is the company’s 20th newbuild jackup and its eighth Super 116E jackup over the past six years.
