    Det norske oljeselskap says it has identified hydrocarbon shows during exploration drilling in the Barents Sea.

    TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap says it has identified hydrocarbon shows during exploration drilling in the Barents Sea.

    Operations continue on the 7222/11-2 well on theLanglitinden prospect in license PL 659.

    The aim is to prove hydrocarbons in the Kobbe formation on the Bjarmeland platform. The same structure was drilled in 2008, 6 km (3.7 mi) away, with the well encountering oil and gas in the Snadd and Kobbe formations.
