Interoil charters PSVs for drilling support offshore Angola

Interoil Angola has issued letters of award for two platform supply vessels to Bumi Armada subsidiaries Armada Offshore OSV and Bumi Armada (Labuan).

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Interoil Angola has issued letters of award for two platform supply vessels to Bumi Armada subsidiaries Armada Offshore OSV and Bumi Armada (Labuan).

The vessels will be chartered to support Total’s drilling campaign onblock 32 offshore Angola.

Contracts for both vessels are valued at $16 million for an initial firm year, with four options of six months (total value $32 million).

Armada Tuah 306 and Armada Tuah 302 are both 75 m (246 ft) long, ABS-classed PSVs, equipped with DP-2 positioning, and fixed pitch propeller azimuth thrusters. This is an arrangement where the propeller is placed in pods that can be rotated in any horizontal direction.

They also offer 700-sq m (7,535-sq ft) free deck space and can transport liquid mud, brine, fuel oil, fresh water, and dry bulk. Additionally, the one-year-oldArmada Tuah 306 can transport methanol.
