Accommodation rig extends stay on Kvitebjørn

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has sanctioned continued use of the Floatel Superior accommodation rig on the Kvitebjørn field until March 1.

Statoil operatesKvitebjørn, east of the Tampen area in the northern Norwegian North Sea. The field has been developed using a fixed accommodation, drilling, and process platform in 190 m (623 ft) of water. Production started in 2004.

The extension is related toplanned modification works on the platform.
