    Wood Group to handle Golden Eagle hook-up

    Nexen Petroleum UK has contracted Wood Group PSN to perform hook-up and commissioning of the Golden Eagle area development project in the UK central North Sea.

    ABERDEEN, UK – Nexen Petroleum UK has contracted Wood Group PSN to perform hook-up and commissioning of the Golden Eagle area development project in the UK central North Sea.

    A wellhead platform and a production, utility, and living quarters platform will be connected by a 70-m (229-ft) bridge, at a location roughly 110 km (68 mi) northeast of Aberdeen. Start-up is scheduled for late 2014.

    Under the $50-million contract, Wood Group will provide management, labor, materials, services, and equipment for the hook-up and commissioning program, using about 100 personnel.
