LONDON – Serica Energy and partner RWE have completed site surveys over the Boyne and Liffey prospects in the Slyne basin offshore western Ireland.
In 2009, Serica discovered sub-commercial oil on the blocks with a well on theBandon structure. The partners plan to drill a well in 2014 and to start a farm-out process later this year.
In the UK southern North Sea, Serica will participate this year in a 3D seismic survey operated by Centrica to evaluate gas prospects in theYork field area.
In the East Irish Sea off northwest England, the company expects to complete a farm-out of the Doyle prospect and to prepare for early drilling. It has received another farm-in proposal for the North Darwin prospect.
As for field development, Serica says itsColumbus project in the central North Sea is on track for first gas in mid-2015.
BG, operator of the nearby Lomond field, has issued tender documents for construction and installation of a bridge-linked platform (BLP) to export Columbus’ gas and condensate production. Subject to conclusion of arrangements between BG and the partners of the Arran field, work on the BLP should begin later this year.
