North Sea Romeo wildcat flows oil

STAVANGER, Norway – Suncor Energy has found oil in the Romeo prospect in the UK North Sea, according to partner Norwegian Energy Co.

Operations on the 30/11c well in license P1666 are nearing completion. The well has encountered oil at three different stratigraphic levels within the Jurassic and Triassic, with a total oil column of about 60 m (197 ft).

However, reservoir quality appears to be poor, so further studies will be needed before the potential can be evaluated.
