TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian Offshore Oil Co. (IOOC) is looking to raise production from the offshore Reshadat oil field, 108 km (67 mi) southwest of Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf.

Oil production started from the field in 1967. Currently it produces from 14 wells, with oil sent to Lavan Island for storage.

According to Abbas Rajab Khani, head of Lavan Operational District, speaking to news service Shana, four new wells should lift output by 22,000 b/d to 75,000 b/d.

Additionally, the company plans to boost production by injecting gas and water, and installing downhole pumps. Eventually the scheme could involve drilling 28 new wells from five new platforms.

When development of the field is completed, IOOC will transfer associated produced gas through a pipeline to the offshoreSalman field complex. Another subsea pipeline will be laid directly to Lavan Island.
