Fluor-JGC venture wins Mozambique LNG FEED

The 50/50 joint venture of Fluor Corp. and JGC Corp. has been awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract with Anadarko Moçambique Area 1 Limitada for an onshore gas liquefaction plant in the Republic of Mozambique.

IRVING, Texas and MAPUTO, Mozambique – The 50/50 joint venture of Fluor Corp. and JGC Corp. has been awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract with Anadarko Moçambique Area 1 Limitada for an onshore gas liquefaction plant in the Republic of Mozambique.

The FEED will cover the initial phase of the Mozambique LNG project of four trains, each capable of producing 5 MMTPA for a total of 20MMTPA. Future expansion could boost the facility’s capacity to 50 MMTPA.

The LNG project, Mozambique’s first, will receive gas from theAnadarko-operated Offshore Area 1 and the Eni-operated Offshore Area 4. The first LNG cargo is targeted for 2018.

The Anadarko Moçambique Area 1 Limitada consortium consists of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (36.5%), Mitsui E&P Mozambique Area 1, Limited (20%), Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (15%), BPRL Ventures Mozambique B.V. (10%), Videocon Mozambique Rovuma 1 Limited (10%) and PTT Exploration & Production Plc (8.5%).
