MIDDLESBROUGH, UK – Private equity investment firm ArcLight Capital Partners has formed North Sea Midstream Partners (NSMP).

The new company targets ownership and commercial development of large-scale midstream oil and gas infrastructure assets in and around the North Sea.

Last month it acquired the Teesside Gas Processing Plant (TGPP), based at Seal Sands on the English northeast coast. TGPP handles gas and liquids from the CATS pipeline system linked to numerous fields in the UK North Sea.

Its current processing capacity is 450 MMcf/d (13 MMcm/d), and it is building a second train to provide an additional 225 MMcf/d (6 MMcm/d) capacity, dedicated to the RWE-operatedBreagh gas project in the southern North Sea.

Andy Heppel and David O’Donnell will continue to serve as the CEO and commercial director of TGPP, respectively, with Mike Wagstaff, previously CEO of Venture Production, acting as non-executive chairman of NSMP.
