Mermaid Siam receives construction assignment offshore Qatar

Mermaid Maritime’s DP-2 construction barge Mermaid Siam has been contracted to work offshore Qatar.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Mermaid Maritime’s DP-2 construction barge Mermaid Siam has been contracted to work offshore Qatar.

The vessel will house more than 100 offshore personnel and provide ancillary services to support offshore construction. The five-month contract is due to start in May, with an optional three-month extension.

Elsewhere, Mermaid’s DP-2 DSVMermaid Commander has a 100-day contract in the Gulf of Thailand. It also starts in May. The scope involves supplying dive crew, construction management, and all necessary support services, manpower and equipment to work at various locations.

The company’s DP-2 ROV support vesselMermaid Sapphire will provide turnkey diving and ROV services in the Gulf of Thailand, over a 45-day program starting next month.

In May, the vessel will work offshoreSakhalin, eastern Russia, as part of a program involving use of ROVs, inspection coordinators, and engineers.
