SINGAPORE – Keppel FELS has delivered a second harsh environment KFELS Super A Class jackup to Hercules Offshore.

TheHercules Resilience was completed 45 days ahead of schedule. Keppel FELS delivered the Hercules Triumph to the same client in April.

This latest rig is designed for severe conditions encountered in theUK North Sea, but it can operate in most parts of the world aside from Norway and the Arctic.

Keppel FELS’ R&D division Offshore Technology Development produced the KFELS Super A Class as an enhancement of the company’s KFELS A Class design. Both Herculesrigs have been adapted to the client’s needs: they can operate in water depths of 400 ft (122 m) and to drilling depths of 35,000 ft (10,668 m).

InitiallyHercules Triumph worked for Cairn India in the Indian Ocean drilling a high-temperature/high-pressure well.
