Aibel awarded North Sea Ivar Aasen hook-up, MMO

Det norske oljeselskap has agreed on two contracts with Aibel for the Ivar Aasen development in the central Norwegian North Sea.

TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap has agreed on two contracts with Aibel for the Ivar Aasen development in the central Norwegian North Sea. Total value is around $107 million.

Aibel will be responsible for hook-up and commissioning of theIvar Aasen platform and for providing maintenance, modification, and operational support services.

To ensure flexibility for the hook-up, Aibel will work closely with SMOE which is building the topsides in Singapore. Engineering is being performed in London.

Hook-up planning and preparations are expected to start in May 2015, with offshore activity due to get under way in summer 2016.

Aibel’s team in Haugesund will manage planning and prefabrication. At peak, around 300 people will work on the contract.
