CALGARY, Canada – Operator RWE Dea has advised Sterling Resources that production has been temporarily shut in at the newly onstream Breagh gas field in the UK southern North Sea.

Mechanical issues have arisen which require repair at the inlet area of the Teesside Gas Processing Plant in northeast England which receives Breagh’sproduction.

They came to light during routine pigging operations to sweep the pipeline of liquids. Indications of abnormal conditions caused the facilities to shut in automatically. Subsequent investigations suggest some irregularities with equipment, which require intrusive work to rectify.

Remaining investigative and known repair work could take up to two weeks before normal service can be resumed at the plant.
