Tanks installed on Caribbean FLNG unit

Wison Offshore & Marine has completed the installation of three LNG storage tanks in the hull of the Caribbean FLNG project, clearing the way for installation of the barge deck and topsides.

SHANGHAI – Wison Offshore & Marine has completed the installation of three LNG storage tanks in the hull of the Caribbean FLNG project, clearing the way for installation of the barge deck and topsides.

TheEXMAR-operated floating liquefaction, regasification and storage unit, which Wison describes as the “world’s first floating LNG production unit,” will be installed offshore Colombia and will begin processing gas from Pacific Rubiales’ onshore La Creciente field in 1Q 2015.

The storage tanks, supplied by TGE, were hoisted by two 400-ton goliath gantry cranes in Wison’s dry dock. The tanks have a combined storage capacity of 16,100 cu m.
